It’s said the Bakersfield Sound is one of those things you can’t define, you just know it when you hear it. Well, if the sound had a look, this jacket would be it. It’s twangy, it’s honky-tonk, it’s mostly country with a little bit of rock-and-roll attitude. This season’s signature biker jacket is a smooth sheepskin leather (in either bold black or a bright turquoise/string combination), embellished with colorful contrast embroidery of florals and flames and Western “smiley” welt accents. The wide notch lapel is bordered with statement-sized studding, and the jacket is outfitted with a zipper front, pockets, and sleeves for a little added edginess. It may be one of our favorites because all the elements both contradict and complement each other.
